Rockette L. Ewell leads the California Community Affairs team at U.S. Bank, overseeing statewide philanthropic giving and community impact initiatives. Her work focuses on developing strategic partnerships that advance the bank’s corporate social responsibility priorities while supporting business growth across its California markets. Under her leadership, the team leverages expertise in community development, corporate social responsibility, and stakeholder engagement to create lasting value for both the bank and the communities it serves.
Rockette joined U.S. Bank in 2014, following prior roles in Texas and Ohio within financial services, where she specialized in community development, community reinvestment, and philanthropy.
Earlier in her career, she served as Executive Director of the Campus District, a neighborhood-based nonprofit serving a fifty-block area of downtown Cleveland, Ohio.
Deeply committed to volunteerism, Rockette is actively engaged in the community. She serves on the boards of the Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH), Episcopal Community Services, and the San Diego College of Continuing Education Foundation, and serves on the Advisory Committee for The Center by Lendistry.
In recognition of her leadership and impact, Rockette received the Fritz Klein Memorial Award from San Diego’s Diversionary Theatre in 2023 for her philanthropic support of the arts. She was named one of the 500 Most Influential People in San Diego by the San Diego Business Journal in 2024 and was honored by the San Diego Urban League in 2025 with its Economic Development Award.
Originally from southeast Texas, Rockette is a graduate of Princeton University, where she majored in Religion. She and her husband reside in North San Diego County.
